Serbia’s real-estate services sector recorded a sharp increase in activity during the second quarter of 2026, following a decline in the opening quarter of the year.
Turnover in real-estate activities increased 13.2% year on year in the second quarter and was 31% higher than in the first quarter. For the first six months combined, turnover growth was 4.4%.
Sector recovers from first-quarter decline
Real-estate services recorded a 5.4% year-on-year decline in the first quarter before activity increased between April and June. The sector represented 5.3% of total business-services turnover in the second quarter, reflecting its share within the broader services market.
Building construction also records strong growth
The recovery in real-estate services coincided with stronger activity in building construction. Real construction work on buildings increased 32.4% year on year in the second quarter, while the value of projects covered by newly issued construction permits rose 18.9%. The quarterly increase in real-estate services followed a weak first quarter, leaving first-half growth at a more moderate level than the second-quarter performance.
