Serbia’s professional, scientific, innovation and technical services recorded strong expansion in the first half of 2026, driven by rising turnover in engineering, architecture and management consulting. Turnover across the sector increased 21.8% in January-June, while second-quarter turnover was 22.3% higher year on year. Compared with the first quarter, turnover increased 23.3%.
Engineering and architecture lead sector growth
Architecture and engineering activities recorded the strongest expansion among the main segments, with turnover rising 36.2% year on year in the second quarter. Management consulting turnover increased 33.3%, while advertising and market research grew 20.6% compared with the same period a year earlier. Legal and accounting activities moved in the opposite direction, with turnover declining 7.9% year on year, although the segment recorded a strong increase compared with the previous quarter.
Business services expand alongside investment activity
The growth was concentrated in specialised business-to-business services, including technical and advisory activities connected with investment, construction, industrial activity and regulatory requirements.
Engineering and consulting services are linked to project development, investment preparation and corporate transformation, while the expansion in these activities increased their contribution to Serbia’s professional-services economy during the first half of the year.
