Serbia’s External Deficit Narrows as Services Gain Weight and Foreign Investment Becomes More Selective

Serbia’s foreign trade expanded to €39.65 billion in the first half of 2026, up 5.8% year on year, while a stronger services balance helped reduce pressure on the country’s external accounts. The current-account deficit stood at approximately €561 million in the first five months of 2026.
