The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has rejected the Railway Infrastructure of Serbia’s request for a use permit for signal, safety, and telecommunication equipment on the Novi Sad-Kelebija high-speed rail section. The decision, dated August 9, cited 37 deficiencies in the submitted documentation.
Key issues include inconsistent information about responsible contractors and professional licenses, incomplete details on personnel who conducted technical inspections, and a problematic contract with the company “Trioprojekt” from Belgrade, which was not properly concluded between the investor and executor. Notably, Milutin Savović, owner of Trioprojekt, was arrested in connection with the investigation into the canopy collapse at Novi Sad railway station.
Due to these irregularities, the Ministry deemed the request incomplete and rejected it, causing delays in the approval process and postponing the rail section’s commissioning.
