Exports of information and communication technology (ICT) services from Serbia surpassed €4.5 billion in 2025, setting a new annual record and underscoring the sector’s significance as a key driver of the country’s export economy. According to data from the Office for IT and eGovernment, total exports in this sector reached €4.55 billion, marking an approximate 10 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The momentum in ICT services exports intensified towards the end of 2025. In December alone, exports amounted to €471 million, reflecting a year-on-year growth of about 12 percent compared to December 2024. This late surge highlights the resilience of Serbia’s digital services sector amid a challenging global technology market.
The ICT sector also contributed significantly to Serbia’s trade balance, with a trade surplus in ICT services estimated at around €3.53 billion for 2025. This figure emphasizes Serbia’s strong position as a net exporter in areas such as software development and IT outsourcing, which are characterized by high value-added services and minimal reliance on imports.
The performance of the ICT sector in 2025 continues a trend of robust growth observed over recent years. It has emerged as one of Serbia’s vital sources of foreign currency inflows, increasingly competing with traditional manufacturing exports. Factors contributing to this success include competitive labor costs, an expanding domestic talent pool, and strong connections with European and global clients, positioning the ICT industry as a crucial component of Serbia’s economic growth strategy moving forward.
