In the first half of this year, Serbia’s total foreign trade in goods amounted to 37.4 billion EUR, marking a 10.4% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data from the Republic Statistical Office (RZS).
Exports reached 16.5 billion EUR, up 10.2% from the first half of 2024, while imports totaled 20.8 billion EUR, a 10.6% increase over the same period. The trade deficit stood at 4.3 billion EUR, 12.1% higher than last year.
The export-to-import coverage ratio was 79.3%, slightly lower than 79.5% recorded in the same period of the previous year.
Most of Serbia’s foreign trade occurred with countries that have free trade agreements with Serbia. European Union member states accounted for 57.9% of total trade.
The second largest trade partner group was CEFTA countries, where Serbia exported goods worth 2.3 billion EUR and imported slightly over 1 billion EUR, resulting in a trade surplus of 1.3 billion EUR and an export-to-import coverage ratio of 229.8%, RZS reported.
