First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali visited the construction site in Surčin, where preparations for Expo 2027 are underway, and confirmed that the project is progressing according to schedule.
During the meeting with contractors, Mali noted that all works are being carried out on time, and any deviations or challenges are being addressed efficiently, which he described as normal for a project of this scale.
Construction activities currently include the Expo exhibition halls, infrastructure work such as sewage networks, mechanical installations for heating and cooling, power systems, and pumping stations. Additionally, 1,500 apartments are being built across 28 seven-story buildings to accommodate official participants during the exhibition.
Mali highlighted that in less than two years, Serbia will host the world’s largest event of 2027, welcoming over 120 countries, major international companies, and millions of tourists. He emphasized that the Expo will showcase Serbia as a hub of knowledge, innovation, culture, and entertainment.
