In May, employees in the public sector in Serbia earned an average salary of 111,162 dinars, while their counterparts in the private sector received an average of 106,330 dinars. This represents a difference of 4,832 dinars in favor of those working in government institutions, healthcare, education, and public enterprises.
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the highest average wages in the public sector were recorded in state administration, with 124,583 dinars in May. This was followed by public state-owned enterprises, where the average salary was 121,879 dinars.
The lowest earnings in the public sector were among employees in local administration, who earned an average of 94,082 dinars in May.
