The long-announced construction of a public garage in Čačak, with more than 400 parking spaces, is finally expected to begin by the end of this year. According to Mayor Milun Todorović, as reported by RTV Galaksija, the preparation of the project-technical documentation is in its final stage, with the building permit expected to be issued within the next month. Financing is also anticipated to be secured before the end of the year.
Todorović noted that although there were previously some property and legal issues, those have now been resolved.
“I hope that only 10 percent of the project’s cost will be financed by the City of Čačak, while the rest will come from other sources,” he said, adding that the project will not involve a public-private partnership and will remain fully owned by the city.
The construction and completion of the garage have been previously announced by the local administration, but the deadlines were postponed over time.
The new public garage will be located at the current taxi station site.
