The Center for Local Self-Government (CLS) announced that this year’s expenses of the public utility company Infostan are expected to reach 2.5 billion dinars, with 775 million dinars (approximately 6.5 million euros) allocated solely for employee salaries.
Nikola Jovanović, CLS director, called it “scandalous” that a company which does not provide any direct utility services, but only handles consolidated billing for other city companies, employs 273 people and will spend 20.5 million euros just this year.
Jovanović emphasized that CLS advocates for a fully digitalized Belgrade, where citizen interests come first, ensuring high-quality services at the lowest possible cost.
He also stated that all harmful public utility tenders will be canceled, and excess employees in certain companies will be redirected to productive and concrete tasks.
