The bankrupt Vršac Brewery has been acquired by the Pancevo company Lider Izgradnja for an initial price of approximately 78.5 million dinars, as announced by the Agency for Licensing of Bankruptcy Trustees.
The brewery, which produces beer and juice in Vršac, was sold as part of its bankruptcy proceedings. The property up for sale included production halls, equipment, raw materials and packaging stock, as well as a 0.78% share in the capital of the Belgrade-based company Pivare i Sladara, and shares in Mileni from Vršac, with a nominal value of around 26 million dinars.
In a previous auction, the initial price for the Vršac Brewery was set at 137.32 million dinars, but no buyers showed interest.
Founded in 1742, the Vršac Brewery is the oldest brewery in Serbia and has been in bankruptcy since 2010.
