Serbia’s Retail Spending Strengthens as Tourism Growth Remains Modest

Serbian household consumption is becoming a more prominent driver of economic activity in 2026, with retail sales recording a substantially stronger increase than tourism volumes as improving real incomes support consumer spending. The real retail turnover index reached 105.2 in June 2026, compared with 100.8 in the same month a year earlier. The reading represents year-on-year growth of approximately 4.4%.
