Serbia’s Banking Sector Combines Double-Digit Credit Growth With Near-2% Non-Performing Loans

Serbia's banking sector is recording rapid expansion in lending while maintaining historically low levels of non-performing loans, creating a markedly different credit profile from that seen after the country's previous financial crisis. Total lending is increasing by approximately 16–17% annually, with household borrowing expanding by around 20% and corporate credit by roughly 12%.
