Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Siniša Mali announced that 121 countries have confirmed participation in the specialized EXPO 2027, to be held in Belgrade, making it “the largest global event of that year.” He expects participation from 130 countries, along with their companies and cultural organizations, and anticipates three to four million visitors.
Mali emphasized that EXPO will allow Serbia to showcase national achievements and present itself as a welcoming host. He highlighted the long-term benefits, including infrastructure development, brand building, international contacts, and new growth opportunities for future generations.
The minister noted that he holds weekly site meetings at the EXPO construction site, describing it as one of Europe’s largest, spanning 200 hectares with 4,000 workers. He receives daily progress reports and stressed that the project reflects a major success for Serbia’s construction industry and planners. Mali also stated that efforts are being made to ensure work progresses ahead of schedule to avoid delays.
