The Government of Serbia has established two working groups to manage negotiations with the Chinese company CRBC regarding the construction of two highway sections: Požega-Mačkat and Požega-Duga Poljana.
The first group is responsible for the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway project, specifically the Požega-Mačkat section. Its role is to cooperate with CRBC to define the scope, value of services and works, and key contractual elements. Miroslav Alempić, Acting Assistant to the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, leads this group, which consists of 17 members.
The second working group will handle the Požega-Duga Poljana section, part of the “Belgrade – South Adriatic” E-763 highway project toward Montenegro. This group has similar responsibilities and is also led by Miroslav Alempić, with 20 members in total.
The Požega-Mačkat section, forming part of the second ring of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway from Požega to Kotroman, was announced in April by Zoran Drobnjak, acting director of JP Putevi Srbije. The section includes about 29 kilometers divided into two parts: Požega to Zlakusa (14.5 km) and Zlakusa to Mačkat (14.5 km). The entire Požega to Kotroman stretch is roughly 60 kilometers, featuring challenging terrain with 66 tunnels and 27 bridges.
The Požega-Duga Poljana section is part of the future highway connecting Belgrade to Montenegro, known as the Belgrade-South Adriatic project.
