In 2024, Serbia saw the construction of 35,380 apartments, a slight decrease compared to 35,652 apartments built in 2023, according to data released by the Republic Statistical Office (RZS). The total value of construction works across the country last year reached 795.6 billion dinars, with 339 billion dinars allocated specifically to building construction.
Belgrade led the country in construction value, accounting for 247.9 billion dinars. It was followed by Vojvodina with 226.8 billion dinars, the Šumadija and Western Serbia region with 197.3 billion dinars, and the Southern and Eastern Serbia region with 123.1 billion dinars.
The average size of newly built apartments in Serbia was 75.9 square meters. On average, 5.4 apartments were completed per 1,000 residents. Last year, 30,437 building permits were issued nationwide, slightly fewer than the 31,216 permits issued the previous year.
