Finance Minister Siniša Mali confirmed that healthcare and education sector employees will receive an extraordinary 5% pay raise from October 1. Following the increase, a teacher’s salary is expected to reach approximately 106,000 dinars, while a specialist doctor will earn about 168,520 dinars, a general practitioner 134,565 dinars, and a nurse 90,939 dinars.
Previous increases included an 11% raise in January 2025 and an additional adjustment in March, bringing teacher salaries to around 101,000 dinars before the upcoming October increase. The pay adjustment is applied via increased salary coefficients.
Police and military personnel continue to have higher salaries and additional benefits. Police salaries range from 85,328 to 149,384 dinars per month, while military personnel earn from 96,659 dinars for junior ranks up to 322,852 dinars for generals.
Longstanding state benefits for security forces include access to housing at below-market prices. Thousands of apartments have been built for military and police personnel across several Serbian cities, and new regulations now allow government commissions to set prices rather than adhering to a fixed ceiling per square meter.
