Minister of Finance Siniša Mali met with Klaus Müller, director of the German Development Bank (KFW) for Southeast Europe and Turkey, to discuss ongoing and future projects in Serbia supported by KFW. The meeting, also attended by German Ambassador Anke Konrad, focused on projects improving energy, environmental protection, and overall economic development in Serbia.
Minister Mali expressed gratitude for KFW’s support, particularly in sectors crucial for Serbia’s development. They agreed to continue cooperation on current projects and plan for future initiatives, including a €135 million reform program for green growth and a €65 million project for integrated solid waste management.
Mali also highlighted Serbia’s strong macroeconomic performance, including record low unemployment, high foreign exchange reserves, and ongoing infrastructure projects, such as nine new highways and the Expo 2027 project, with participation from 103 countries. He noted Serbia’s commitment to EU cooperation and presented Serbia’s new three-year agreement with the IMF, aiming to keep the deficit below 3%.
The discussion concluded with a commitment to continue working on projects that will further Serbia’s accelerated development.
