Germany’s S-Tech Energie plans to invest €5 million in the construction of a solar park in Backa Topola, said Backa Topola Mayor Melinda Koaki Mernjak.
According to the plan, solar panels will be placed on an area spanning 3 hectares to generate 2 MW of electricity. She added that the project would facilitate the employment of about 60 people, which should contribute to the reduction of the number of unemployed persons that now exceeds 3,500.
According to her words, works should kick off as soon as all required documents are collected. S-Tech Energie is interested in building additional two power units with the capacity of 3 MW in another two locations, thus increasing the total capacity of that solar park to 5 MW.
