Dušan Nikezić, Vice President of the Freedom and Justice Party, accused the Serbian government of using the EXPO project as a cover for enriching individuals close to the authorities. He highlighted the potential profit for Al Dahra from reselling land.
Nikezić questioned the Finance Minister about the project area expansion to 813.6 hectares—seven times the original plan—and raised concerns over ownership of 13 plots (340 hectares) previously owned by PKB, now held by New International Investments 011, a sister company of Al Dahra.
The Tax Administration assessed the expropriation value of undeveloped construction land in Surčin at 6,174 dinars (≈50 euros) per square meter. Nikezić claims this is more than 100 times the price PKB paid for the land.
He concluded that the company could earn 170 million euros from selling the 340 hectares to the state, despite paying only 104 million euros for 17,000 hectares of PKB assets, including farms and equipment. Citing potential corruption, the Freedom and Justice Party called for a halt to all EXPO project activities.
