On January 15, 2025, Serbia’s National Bank (NBS) achieved a new milestone in its instant payment system, known as IPS NBS, processing a total of 446,513 transactions worth 5.64 billion dinars. This marks the highest number of transactions ever recorded in a single day since the system was launched.
The NBS’s instant payment system is one of the most advanced payment methods available worldwide. It operates 24/7, enabling both individuals and businesses to make quick and easy payments at any time, including on weekends, holidays, and even during night hours. Payments are processed in real-time, meaning the recipient receives the funds within seconds.
This achievement highlights the growing popularity of the instant payment system and its role in facilitating seamless financial transactions across the country.
