The best bidder for the purchase of the Vršac Brewery in bankruptcy was the Pančevo-based company Lider Izgradnja, which offered a price of 75.47 million dinars, the starting price at the public auction, as announced by the Bankruptcy Trustee Licensing Agency.
According to the announcement, if the Republic of Serbia, as the holder of the right of first refusal under the Cultural Heritage Act, exercises this right and accepts the price achieved at the auction, a sales contract will be concluded with the state, and the deposits will be returned to the auction participants. If the state does not exercise the right of first refusal, the bankruptcy trustee will finalize the sales contract with the best bidder.
The auction offered the assets of the brewery and juice factory in Vršac, which include production halls, equipment, raw material and packaging inventories, as well as a 0.78% stake in the capital of the Belgrade-based Pivara i Sladara brewery and shares in Milenijum from Vršac, with a nominal value of approximately 26 million dinars.
At the previous auction, the starting price for the Vršac Brewery was 137.32 million dinars, but there were no interested buyers.
The Vršac Brewery is the oldest brewery in Serbia and has been in bankruptcy since 2010.
