The Secretariat for Urbanism and Construction has released for public review the draft of the general regulation plan for Belgrade’s rail systems, focusing on the detailed design of the second stage of Metro Line 2.
Key changes include:
- Route adjustments and the addition of two new stations: Slavija (replacing Manjež) and Karađorđev park.
- The plan covers the stretch from the planned Merkator station to Mirijevo, following major thoroughfares such as Bulevar Zorana Đinđića, Ulica kraljice Drage Obrenović, Devojački park, Ulica kralja Milana, Bulevar Oslobođenja, Južni bulevar, Gospodara Vučića, and Bulevar kralja Aleksandra, extending through Mirijevo to the planned combined station of the first and second metro lines.
- The draft also addresses areas east of Pančevački most, the Dunav riverside zone, the planned access road to the bridge, the planned sewer collector, and the area around Ada Huja north of Ulica Višnjička and near the Kartonka Avala factory.
The plan updates the rules for urban planning and construction related to the second metro line and replaces the previous route section from Blok 18 to Južni bulevar.
