U.S. sanctions targeting the majority Russian ownership in Serbia’s Oil Industry (NIS) came into effect today at 6 a.m. NIS announced that in the event of disruptions to international payment cards (Mastercard, Visa), customers can pay at gas stations using the domestic “Dina” card, cash, or the “IPS pokaži” mobile payment method.
NIS added that payments with “Sa nama na putu,” Agro, and Taxi cards will continue uninterrupted. Wholesale transactions in dinars remain fully operational, and the company remains committed to fulfilling all contractual obligations to corporate clients and major buyers, with corporate payment cards functioning normally.
Bojana Radojević, NIS Retail Department Director, told Tanjug that payment operations are currently running smoothly, but temporary disruptions may occur during the day. She emphasized that alternative payment methods—including cash, Dina cards, mobile banking via IPS pokaži, and the NIS app—will ensure uninterrupted access to fuel and other products across Serbia.
