Telenor Serbia plans to complete its analysis of the fixed telephony market for business customers by autumn 2011, after which it will consider launching the service for residential customers, local news agency Beta reported, citing Telenor CEO Kjell-Morten Johnsen.
Telenor obtained Serbia’s second landline licence in early 2010 and started offering the service to business users in February 2011. Johnsen said planned increases in fixed telephony prices in Serbia will encourage investments in new technologies, networks and services. Johnsen also said that he does not expect major changes in the Serbian market after the launch of mobile number portability, as only 4 percent to 5 percent of mobile telephony users in EU countries decide to switch operators in this way.
