Serbia’s E-Waste Sector Opens Space for Specialist Recycling Businesses

Serbia’s electronic-waste market is moving beyond conventional collection and dismantling, creating opportunities for smaller specialist businesses focused on asset recovery, refurbishment, materials classification and higher-value recycling. Established operators already have combined treatment capacity estimated at nearly 75,000 tonnes a year, compared with formal collection of roughly 15,000–20,000 tonnes. Other assessments indicate that as much as 30,000 tonnes of obsolete electronics remain outside controlled recycling channels annually.
