MediGroup acquisition: Major healthcare transaction in Serbia and Romania

MediGroup, one of Serbia’s largest private healthcare systems, is being acquired by the Finnish healthcare group Mehilainen, which also took over Romania’s largest healthcare provider, Regina Maria. This acquisition is part of the largest transaction in the private healthcare market in Central and Eastern Europe. The deal, negotiated over the past few months, includes MediGroup’s ownership by investment funds MidEuropa and Blue Sea Capital, and Regina Maria’s sole ownership by the Romanian company.
