In November 2024, Serbia’s retail trade turnover showed positive growth, with an increase of 4.1 percent in current prices compared to the same month in the previous year. In constant prices, which account for inflation, the growth was 1.4 percent, according to data from the Republic Institute of Statistics (RZS).
When looking at the first eleven months of 2024, the retail trade turnover was up by 9.6 percent in current prices, and 5.8 percent in constant prices compared to the same period in 2023.
Retail trade in food, beverages, and tobacco saw a 5.9 percent increase in constant prices during the first eleven months of 2024, while growth in November alone was modest at just 0.1 percent year-on-year. Non-food product sales performed stronger, with a 2.5 percent increase in November, and a more substantial 7.8 percent rise for the first eleven months of the year.
Retail trade in motor fuels also experienced growth, with a 2 percent increase in both November 2024 and the first eleven months of the year, according to the RZS report.
