In the first eight months of this year, exports of IT services reached €2.96 billion, marking a 13% increase compared to the same period last year, announced Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment. The office emphasized that these results further confirm Serbia’s leading position in the region in the development of the IT sector.
Jovanović highlighted that to maintain this position and sustain further growth, it is necessary to continue intensive efforts in developing innovation infrastructure, advancing digital transformation, implementing artificial intelligence, and expanding biotechnology.
Supporting indicators show that the surplus in IT services during the first eight months amounts to €2.34 billion, while employment in the sector has exceeded 115,000 people, according to the statement.
