Serbia’s foreign trade in goods for the first 11 months of 2024 reached approximately EUR 62.3 billion, marking a 3.9% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Republic Statistical Office (RZS). Exports totaled around EUR 26.8 billion, up by 1.7%, while imports rose by 5.7%, reaching EUR 35.4 billion.
The trade deficit stood at about EUR 8.6 billion, which represents a 20.4% increase compared to the previous year. The coverage of imports by exports was 75.7%, down from 78.7% in the same period of 2023.
The largest share of Serbia’s foreign trade occurred with countries that have signed free trade agreements with Serbia. The European Union accounts for 58.6% of Serbia’s total trade.
Serbia also achieved a trade surplus of EUR 2.6 billion with CEFTA countries, with an export coverage of 274.3%.
In November 2024, Serbia exported goods worth EUR 2.3 billion, a 2.5% decline compared to November 2023. Imports for the same month totaled EUR 3.2 billion, reflecting a 4.8% increase year-on-year.
