Foreign direct investments in Serbia continue to grow, reaching 4.46 billion euros by the end of November, National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković announced at the opening of the second Banking Summit. She emphasized that Serbia has successfully maintained financial stability, economic growth, and the stability of the dinar exchange rate against the euro, and stressed that the NBS will continue to work in the public interest, as stability remains essential.
Tabaković also highlighted that inflation was reduced to the target range of 3.0% ± 1.5% in May, and that monetary policy easing began in June, with the reference interest rate being lowered three times. She noted that dinar savings have reached record levels, amounting to 180 billion dinars—ten times higher than in 2012. Additionally, she pointed out the significant reduction in non-performing loans, which stood at 2.7% in August, and the share of non-performing loans in housing loans, which has decreased to 1.46%.
