Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, stated in Tokyo that Japan’s trade strategy is increasingly focused on the European market, placing Serbia in an ideal position for joint projects. Japanese companies are showing growing interest in cooperation in green technologies, chemical production, and the textile industry.
Čadež, speaking after a meeting between the Serbian delegation and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), highlighted plans to establish a Serbian-Japanese operational team to coordinate daily project activities and company cooperation. He emphasized the importance of Japanese technology in helping Serbian companies adopt standards needed for European markets, particularly in green technology.
Discussions included potential joint production of crystalline phosphoric acid for the European market at the Industrial-Chemical Park in Prahovo. Čadež also noted ongoing collaborations, such as MikroElektronika’s contract with Japanese company Renaishance Electronics, which began deliveries to Japan in October, with opportunities for further partnerships.
Plans were made to organize themed visits to Japan for Serbian companies in green tech, chemical, and textile sectors in the first quarter of next year. In textiles, Čadež highlighted potential cooperation with Japanese leaders in automotive textiles and a Serbian company capable of supplying the European market.
Čadež concluded that Serbia’s strategic position in Europe makes it an attractive partner for Japanese companies seeking joint production projects and expanded market access.
