Orion Telekom has inaugurated a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) factory at its data center in Belgrade, which is being recognized as the most sophisticated private AI infrastructure in Central and Southeast Europe. This facility is equipped with NVIDIA Blackwell (DGX B200) architecture, enabling it to support the entire AI development lifecycle, including model creation, training, inference, and production deployment. The new infrastructure allows local enterprises and institutions to access advanced AI capabilities without depending on international cloud providers.
This initiative is part of Orion’s broader Technology and Digital Infrastructure Strategy, which involves an investment exceeding €200 million in the coming years. The strategy aims to enhance sovereign AI and digital computing capacities in Serbia and the surrounding region. By integrating cutting-edge hardware with enterprise-grade software and data management tools, the AI factory is set to facilitate advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI-driven optimization across various sectors such as finance, manufacturing, logistics, and public services. Additionally, it ensures that data remains under local control and adheres to European data protection and AI regulations.
Officials from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce have noted that the launch represents a pivotal moment for Serbia’s technological landscape and its competitiveness on an international scale. The availability of robust, locally hosted AI infrastructure is expected to spur innovation and increase productivity throughout the economy, providing Serbian businesses and institutions with a competitive advantage in implementing AI-driven solutions.
This development positions Serbia among a select group of countries in the region that offer comprehensive commercial AI platforms, indicating a transition from discussions about digital transformation to the establishment of operational infrastructures that facilitate practical AI adoption and economic digitalization.
