There is significant potential to improve trade between Serbia and Turkey, particularly in the export of frozen fruit and planting material from Serbia. This was the main conclusion of a meeting between representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) and the Bursa Chamber of Commerce, held in Belgrade.
The Turkish delegation expressed strong interest in Serbian products already recognized on international markets, including raspberries, blackberries, currants, and strawberries, as well as fruit seedlings. In response, PKS announced plans to organize a visit of Serbian companies to the Bursa region by the end of the year to facilitate direct business contacts and knowledge exchange in fruit cultivation and processing.
The Turkish delegation included representatives from the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and three municipalities from the region, which is known both as a leading industrial center and a major agricultural area in Turkey.
During their stay, Turkish delegates will also visit raspberry producers in Arilje and Požega to observe best practices in the field.
In 2024, Turkey ranked as Serbia’s ninth-largest export market and fourth-largest import partner. Total trade in goods between the two countries reached 3.1 billion euros. In the first quarter of 2025, trade volume amounted to 801.3 million euros, with Serbian exports totaling 314.2 million euros and imports from Turkey reaching 487.1 million euros.
