Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy Jovan Krkobabic met with the newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Chepurin.
Krkobabic and Chepurin pointed out that the traditional closeness of the two nations provides additional opportunities for a broader and more comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture and economy, and also for strengthening political ties. Krkobabic expressed appreciation for the understanding and support that Russia gives to Serbia. He said that the gas pipeline project “South Stream” is one of those that will help Serbia to find a way out of the economic crisis. According to him, this is not the only project in which the interests of both sides overlap, the statement from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister reads.
