Cargo traffic at Niš’s “Konstantin Veliki” Airport surpassed 2,559,976 kilograms of goods last week, setting a new annual record. This milestone breaks the previous best year of 2017—even though 2025 is not yet over.
The record was achieved following the latest flight from Urumqi, which delivered another shipment of e-commerce goods. Niš and Urumqi are connected by a regular cargo route developed through cooperation between Airports of Serbia and China’s Xinjiang Airport Group. Each arrival from Urumqi brings around 50 tons of cargo, which is then distributed from Niš across Serbia, as well as to North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania.
In addition to this service, other cargo routes of varying capacity operate through Niš Airport, further contributing to the growth of total volume.
Airports of Serbia stated that Niš’s performance confirms its potential to evolve into an important logistics hub for the Southeast European region, especially in the rapidly growing sectors of e-commerce and express shipments. With continued growth and new operations expected, 2025 is on track to close with an even higher cargo throughput.
