Following the completion of the Miloš Veliki highway section from Pakovraće to Požega, plans are underway to extend the highway toward Ivanjica to eventually reach Boljari. Initial plans had raised concerns that around 100 houses would need to be demolished and fertile land occupied.
Local residents expressed significant worry, prompting a meeting in Ivanjica between local government representatives, the construction company CRBC, and residents of Radaljevo.
After discussions with state authorities and investors, a new tunnel route has been proposed, which will bypass over 90 percent of the disputed properties, according to Ivanjica Mayor Aleksandar Mitrović.
Mitrović emphasized that the government has demonstrated a willingness to accommodate residents’ concerns, even though the revised route will be significantly more expensive.
