The completion of the Miloš Veliki highway section from Preljina to Požega will not only improve road safety but also significantly boost the development of western Serbian municipalities by improving connections to major tourist destinations and shortening travel times to Belgrade.
The municipality of Lučani will be integrated into Serbia’s highway network, which is expected to strengthen the economy of the Dragačevo region. Local authorities are preparing for the development of a new 100-hectare industrial zone in the Krstac and Puhovo communities. A bridge over the Bjelica River is planned to provide access to the area, and documentation and planning are already underway in cooperation with national infrastructure institutions.
Milivoje Dolović, president of the Lučani municipality, stated that this project will bring new investors, expand existing companies, and generate new employment opportunities.
“The opening of the industrial zone will mean job creation and economic growth. Priority will be given to local businesses from Lučani, and we hope to begin construction this year,” Dolović said.
