Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović, met with representatives of major oil suppliers, including MOL Serbia, OMV Serbia, EKO Serbia, Knez Petrol, and the National Oil Company (NIS), to discuss ensuring a stable domestic fuel supply, the Ministry announced.
Đedović Handanović emphasized the ongoing efforts to maintain market security, highlighting the importance of finalizing the Action Plan to Mitigate Supply Disruptions of Oil and Oil Derivatives. The plan will outline procedures for deploying mandatory fuel reserves to compensate for temporary shortages, ensuring continuity in supply.
She thanked the oil companies for their cooperation during this crisis situation, stressing the need for efficient decision-making to prevent any disruptions to market supply.
“Serbia has not received a drop of crude oil for nearly two months, yet citizens and businesses have not felt the impact. We are doing everything to maintain this situation until the NIS issue is resolved and the Pančevo refinery resumes production. The situation is monitored daily and can change rapidly. We aim to keep the public informed at all times,” said Đedović Handanović.
The Action Plan is part of the government’s Energy Security Crisis Measures, which can be activated by the Serbian Government to ensure the stability of energy and fuel supply in emergency situations.
