The Independent Metalworkers’ Union of Serbia “Elrad Serbia” announced warning strikes at company gates on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a full-day work stoppage on Friday, September 19.
The strikes are a response to longstanding issues including poor production organization, management shifting responsibilities onto employees, unpaid overtime and Saturday work, and low wages that fail to provide a dignified living. The union also cites layoffs without proper redundancy programs or consultation, and the introduction of strict evaluation rules that could be misused to justify dismissals.
The union emphasizes that the strike is necessary to push the employer into negotiations, while remaining open to dialogue with workers.
