The electricity bill is completely transparent, with all charges clearly explained. Detailed explanations of each individual item and its meaning are also available on the website of “Elektroprivreda Srbije” (EPS), the company stated today, refuting claims by the political party “Serbia Centre” that the electricity bills lack transparency.
EPS criticized these persistent attempts by unqualified individuals spreading false information as a populist effort to cause confusion, gain political points, and damage the reputation of Serbia’s largest and most important energy company. The statement suggests that such misleading claims reflect either a lack of expert arguments or ill intentions, which could ultimately devalue the company.
EPS emphasized that every bill is prepared in accordance with Serbian laws, including regulations on energy, energy efficiency, value-added tax, penalty interest, consumer protection, and excise duties.
The bills comply with regulations on electricity supply conditions, incentives for privileged electricity producers, support for energy-vulnerable customers, and methodologies for determining electricity prices for guaranteed supply, system access charges for electricity distribution, and the decision on regulated electricity prices for households and small consumers.
