
Deputy Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Peter Sanfey stated that establishment of a prudent fiscal policy, strengthening of independence when making decisions in the energy sector, and intensification of the local market capital should be main goals of Serbia next year. At the presentation of the 2012 EBRD Report on Transition in Belgrade, Sanfey said that this year in Serbia was marked by acquired EU member candidate status, progress made in reforms, as well as weakening of the macroeconomic discipline. Vice Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Ana Gligorijevic stated that EBRD is the biggest investor in Serbia adding that so far this bank has approved 2 billion euros worth of loans for important projects.
