The Angel Investor Network of the “Digital Serbia” Initiative has invested in Vinaver Medical, a local startup developing software solutions aimed at improving medical diagnostics and therapy planning in oncology using artificial intelligence and spectral CT technology.
The founding team of Vinaver Medical combines expertise in physics, engineering and artificial intelligence to fully leverage the potential of clinical CT diagnostics. Their proprietary software, which can be integrated into existing systems regardless of the manufacturer, has proven to be a powerful tool for tissue characterization in cardiac and abdominal diagnostics, with the greatest impact in the field of particle radiotherapy. When planning the most advanced forms of radiotherapy, precise knowledge of the tissue density and composition through which radiation passes before reaching the tumor is crucial. Vinaver Medical’s software extracts these details from CT scans with high accuracy, enabling better planning and safer delivery of therapy.
Vinaver Medical’s solution improves the workflow of all stakeholders in the healthcare system—from clinicians and hospital administration to insurers—and brings the most benefit to cancer patients. By allowing for more precise and personalized therapy planning, the software contributes to the fundamental goal of modern radiotherapy: curing cancer with minimal or no side effects.
Their product is already being tested in collaboration with clinics in the region and on markets in the US and EU. They are also actively involved in the local healthcare system, directly contributing to the quality of patient care in Serbia. The Angel Investor Network of the “Digital Serbia” Initiative brings together more than 50 successful entrepreneurs and leaders from various fields. Since its inception, the network has invested 1.3 million euros in 13 local startups, providing them with smart capital—financial, mentoring, and strategic support in the early stages of development.
“Vinaver Medical is a great example of a startup that combines scientific knowledge, market potential, and a strong team. Their approach addresses specific challenges in modern medicine, and we believe they have the potential for global success,” said Zorana Branković, member of the Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Intesa Bank, and a member of the Angel Investor Network of the “Digital Serbia” Initiative.
